INTER MILAN KEEP WINNING AGAINST LAZIO TO STAY AT THE TOP OF SERIE A.

Giuseppe Meazza, Serie A - Inter Milan 2 (Bastoni 30', Skriniar 67') Lazio 1 (Immobile 35')

Inter Milan extended their Serie A winning streak to eight games with a 2-1 victory against Lazio at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

With just over a quarter of an hour gone, Simone Inzaghi felt his team had grabbed the lead when Alexis Sanchez sent a defence-splitting through pass to Lautaro Martinez, who scored superbly, but the goal was disallowed for the tiniest of offside decisions.

The Nerazzurri took the lead in the 29th minute when Alessandro Bastoni curled a stunning 25-yard shot low into the bottom corner to put his team ahead.

Inter were quickly pegged back as a long-ball from an indirect Lazio free-kick caught their defence off guard, allowing Ciro Immobile to score his 15th goal of the season past an onrushing Samir Handanovic.

Milan Skriniar headed in Bastoni's slick cross past Thomas Strakosha with little over 20 minutes remaining to give Inter their 10th win in 11 league games.

TALKING POINT - INTER GOAL RULED OUT FOR OFFSIDE

Inter believed they had grabbed the lead at the San Siro shortly after a quarter-hour, but a beautiful play was finally chalked off by the video assistant referee for a borderline offside ruling.

Lautaro was level with the Biancocelesti back-line in the still shots right before he made the run in behind the Lazio defence, but the call-for want of a better description-was an "armpit" offside that was incredibly close to being called, and on another day, it could have gone the other way.

In the end, Inzaghi wouldn't be too bothered because his team still won, but if the outcome had been different, it may have been more contentious.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH - ALESSANDRO BASTONI

The 22-year-old was spectacular in this encounter, scoring a stunning 25-yard shot that found the bottom corner, as well as delivering a great assist for Milan Skriniar's headed goal.

The wide centre-back moved forward multiple times, as he has done in earlier matches this season, and was regularly shown to be a threat from long shots and deliveries into the box.

Bastoni made one successful tackle, had an 89 percent pass success rate, and two successful dribbles in addition to his goal efforts.

Important Periods

GOAL FOR INTER IS DISALLOWED AT 16'! Sanchez made a fantastic pass, which Martinez executed well. The Chilean's weight of pass from centre midfield is excellent, and it opens up the Lazio defence. Martinez only needs to beat the goalie, and he slots it to his right. It's chalked off after a VAR review for offside!

28'-WHAT A SAVE!-Strakosha pulls off a spectacular point-blank save! The ball is received on the volley after Dumfries sends it from the right, but the Lazio goalkeeper makes a fantastic stop!

goal at 29'! INTER LEAD!- Following a corner well outside the area, Alessandro Bastoni collects the ball and smashes one low and true straight into the bottom corner from 25 yards out! What a fantastic goal!

GOAL!-35'-Lazio have risen from the ashes! Immobile gets a long ball over the top from Skriniar and De Vrij, who scramble as the striker takes the ball ahead of an onrushing Handanovic and slides it home to bring Lazio back level! awful defence.

GOAL!-67'-Inter receive a deep free-kick, which finds its way to Bastoni, who advances out wide. The wide centre-back sends a fantastic cross into the box, which Skriniar heads home to restore Inter's advantage!
